Project: Add a Sunroom or Patio Enclosure
Comments: From the start, Shane and Coastal respected my families wishes for a porch cover. We had a neighbor with a similar awning, and asked for the same. Shane was the only contractor to not only match our needs, but give a full breakdown of the job in his estimate including materials and labor. The others just gave a general quote. Once started, the company and its subcontractors, who were highly skilled and personable with us, gave us a high quality product that our neighbors have complimented numerous times. The attention to detail went literally to the last day as adjustments were made to improve looks and quality. Highly recommended!

Comments: We had an unfinished space above our garage converted into a heated and air conditioned livable room for a family member. The service provided was courteous and excellent. The company was prompt in responding to all communication via telephone and email. We have recommended this company to our friends and provide recommendation to reviewers of this site as well.

Description of Work:
Coastal Building Concepts was contracted to perform a complete renovation on a beachfront duplex in North Topsail Beach, NC which we purchased on September 2013. Services performed included tearing off exterior stucco, repairing or replacing damaged or rotted wood, studs and support beams, re-sealing, installation of vinyl siding & trim, installation of all new doors & windows, repair and replacement of new decking boards and rails, and installation of a new metal roof.

Coastal Building Concepts made us feel that we were really in this project together. Though the project did go over the completion deadline, the company stayed with it to the very end and even came back a couple times after to fix or repair a few minor things. I would, therefore, HIGLY recommend Coastal Building Concepts for their integrity, expertise and ability to provide fantastic construction and contracting services for any residential project, large or small.
It was discovered that supporting beams underneath a cantilevered portion of the house had rotted out (form the ocean moisture) to a point where this part of the structure had dropped and was dangerously close to threatening the entire structure (and project) itself. A Building Inspector had to be called out to make a determination and provide a recommendation. But Coastal Building Concepts coordinated all this for us, and set out to begin making the proper repair immediately. This repair included jacking up the cantilevered portion of the house and sliding in new support specially constructed support beams into position. This is just one example of how the company went beyond what other contractors may have done to insure the project was done right and to our satisfaction.

From the start they were responsive and kept in touch as the funding for this project took over 6 months to obtain on my side. Ann who runs the office/scheduling side of things kept in touch without being pushy. She was personable and there to help the whole way through. The crew showed up on time and professional. The only small complaint is that the caulking was done by an apprentice and could have been done better. Otherwise, they installed the windows without having to replace my inside molding which was important to me. I would definitely hire them again! Very good experience

The room was added onto a cement slab, extended to 12′x14′. Shane and Ann are exceptional to work with. The factory did not send all the parts needed which delayed the process but the follow up is excellent! With final inspection, further caulking is needed and to be done soon. I have used Coastal Building Concepts in replacing a picture window and also adding a garage. They are both great people with the best prices compared to other contractors I spoke with.

We were thrilled with the outcome of our remodeling.
The engagement started back in June with an on-line search for service providers resulting in several providers calling me. I got a call from Ann about 30 minutes after I started my search and within a few short minutes realized they had just completed a major renovation of the building next door to me. Having watched and been impressed with the work on that property for months, I was eager to have them meet with us about what we wanted. Shane came the next day and thus began a roughly 5 month phased project to turn our ~35 year old condo into a more modern, convenient, functional, and beautiful vacation spot for our retirement years.

Review: I found Shane and CBC over the internet. Was impressed when Shane returned my call; felt comfortable with both he and the rest of CBC personnel, they were upfront about everything and made several trips back to look at the project and get my ideas, while offering excellent ideas as well. Absolutely no sales pressure. The CBC remodelers: David and Chuck, who actually did all the remodeling were Wonderful and I would recommend them and Shane to anyone. They were all honest and so kind and considerate, kepping me informed all the way. I can hardly wait for my othe projects to get started. Very professional all the way.

Review: Our new deck system is beautiful! The price was the best out of all 3 contractor quotes. I believe we got a great deal and the quality of workmanship is outstanding. The only problems we ran into were due to the weather. The weather delayed the start of our project due to the delays in completing other projects by the contractor. However, the communication was appropriate and appreciated. I would recommend Coastal Building Concepts to all of my neighbors and friends. I have already had several comments and am very pleased with the outcome.
